New Restoration Project DAF City
This unique car has been part of the DAF Museum collection for many years. The Italian design and body company O.S.I. (Officine Stampaggi Industriali from Turin) built it based on the Daffodil (32) as a city taxi. The technical components were supplied by DAF Eindhoven or the Italian DAF representation.
The most striking features of this car are the asymmetrical closing doors and the absence of a B-pillar. The body is still in good condition, and rust formation is minimal, allowing for the restoration and replacement of the sheet metal to be kept to a minimum. Many components from Italian cars were used in the construction of this vehicle, and parts were also produced in-house.
After disassembly, the parts and components will be cleaned, refurbished, and stored. The body will be sandblasted and repainted in the original (Jaguar) color, metallic red with a white roof. It is still too early to say how long the restoration will take, but the project is currently proceeding as planned. We will keep you updated on the progress via the newsletter, Facebook, and Instagram.
