Beautifully detailed Miniature Model of the Paris-Dakar Truck at the DAF Museum
Daniel Rutjes has been building models of famous vehicles for ten years and has recreated the most famous Paris-Dakar truck, the DAF 95X1, as a tribute to Jan de Rooy.

Rally-loving Netherlands still remembers the legendary footage of Jan de Rooy passing Ari Vatanen in his Peugeot 405 T16 at 220 km/h in the sand in 1988.
The model, built at a scale of 1:10, took 4.5 months to complete and can even be controlled remotely, featuring working lights, a truck horn, an interior, and little figurines. The Caballero package is also placed on the dashboard...!
On January 2nd, Daniel showcased his miniature model in the DAF Museum next to the imposing Dakar truck.
It's fascinating to see the stark contrast in size, yet how closely they resemble each other! We hope to admire the 'baby' truck in the DAF Museum more often. Thank you, Daniel Rutjes, for your visit and enthusiasm!
